Would probably be on 02 May 1954 in an Eddie Stanky coached Cards 10-6 win over the Leo Durocher coached Giants in Busch Stadium I in the first game of a double header. He went 4-4 with a walk, HR, Run scored, 2 RBI, but he was caught stealing once. This effort brought his average up to .304 in this young season.
The Winning pitcher was Al Brazle who is credited with a blown save and the win. He pitched 4 innings, faced 16 batters, gave up 2 hits, walked 2, 1 Run, 1 ER, and struck out 3.
The Losing pitcher was Jim Hearn who got lit up for 4 Runs on 8 Hits and 2 BB in 3.1IP.
