80M Cap
Either dh or no. Like em both
5-10-20
Waivers
I usually do the default draft. I guess that's auto. Don't know Diamond Dope
Give me a "Go" and I'll buy a team today. Set up 2 and I'll buy two.

I'm commish in a couple of retro keeper leagues, which start in the 2001 season and then play forward from there. We play 4 seasons per year, with almost non-stop activity. It's a great way to stay involved.

Sounds interesting. What is a retro league?

We have 2 of them going now. These are keeper leagues which start with the oldest continuosly-available card set (2001) and then play each season from then until now.

In the first one, we are currently in our 9th season and will have to convert to a standard current-year keeper by the end of 2012.

Because of that, we recently started a second one, back at 2001. These are my favorite leagues, because you get to review a broad spectrum of player results and play year-round, with very few breaks in the action. All 12 managers in the 1st one quickly signed up for the 2nd one, too.[/quote:0ba0a79602]

That sounds awesome, if you ever need somebody when starting a new one I might be interested.

The leagues are enjoyable. You can plan your strategy for years to come and know what to expect out of the next several drafts.

Another option for an ATG league would be this theme league:

New League:

"Where is Braveheart?"

ATG 6
Standard
Auto Draft
80m
No DH
5-10-15

Don't leave me alone & waiting. I'm too old!

Maybe an 8 team league option would help leagues fill faster

Postby BDWard » Sun Jan 22, 2012 2:37 pm

From my mid teens to early 20's in the mid to late 1970s, seven of my friends and I played a face to face draft league using the most recent MLB season cards. Although there were fewer big league teams then, we liked diluting the talent by 8 teams. We all had good players, but each team would have a weak link or two and our leagues were very competitive.

With 12 and 24 team league options already available, maybe an 8 team league option would be a viable alternative, especially in the 20XX games. The leagues would fill faster and the talent would be spread a little less thin.

There could be two divisions, with the two division champs making the playoffs, along with a wild card. The team with the best record would get a first round playoff bye, with the other two playoff teams playing in the semis.

I'm sure something could be figured out regarding credits.

It's an idea that's worthy of consideration.

I like the idea. More traditional and the divisions would fill up faster than the 24 teams leagues which are endless.

When you see the number of leagues out there with 1 team, it's wasteful. I used to buy in $100 blocks but no more. Most of the time I wait for a league to be 2/3 full before I go for it.

Maybe someone in management will read your suggestion.

I got caught off guard and recently bought a team. There are 2 teams in there now. Hope I don't have to wait 'till late winter.
