Look, I'm not saying that A Rod wouldn't be a great SS, just that they are wildly inconsistent. Traditionally they have always lower rated guys who played few innings at a position. Maybe there have been other exceptions (Castilla?) but by and large there haven't been.
I'm pretty sure when Pokie Reese went from SS to 2b, he was rated a 3 after being a 1 the previous season.
If you're going to rate by "would be" then you have to do it across the board, just not for the Yankees. Again, why is Alfonzo an e41 at 2b? He didn't make a single error there. So, by that logic, shouldn't A rod be a 2 e48???
Bottom line: If you do it for one, you have to do it for all. They aren't doing that.
