[quote:09de4eb71e="keyzick"]I'm already regretting my pick...[/quote:09de4eb71e]

Well [b:09de4eb71e]Rant[/b:09de4eb71e] hasnt picked yet so go back & chg it.

Then again the # of available franchises is dwindling so its just probably a case of buyer's remorse.

I too momentarily regretted my 2nd selection, Detroit, based on W-L compared to 84 win A's...then I went back & looked at the A's roster & wondered how they did it...except for Giambi not lots of impressive bats...SPs not much after Huddy...hey no disrepsect meant towards Oakland, but I felt better about my pick afterall in hindsight. It is what it is...we make our choices for better or worse...in sickness and in health...to death do us part.

&, now back to the M L B Network--great great Ch esp the Hot Stove Lg show!

Great Kev! That's encouraging since I picked the Redbirds w/ my1st selection.

But, its not always about the #s. It doesn't always come down to pure stats & standings, though the Cardinals were relatively competitive in 1999 in the 6 team central div.

I went w/ my gut & with what I know beyond ind. stars like McGwire & Tatis. For years, many have felt St Louis to be the #1 baseball city in America & Ive long admired that franchise & thats why I picked em...fwiw.

Look fwd to how the draft finishes Thursday, then we can lock n load!

:D[/quote:419426462f]

Hey infoczar, I very much agree it doesn't always come down to stats/standings with a two-team theme league. The right mix is the most important thing. However, I will be able to throw a lot of payroll dollars out there. I will truly be the Yankees and try to buy myself a championship.
Even though I'm not in a classic hitter's park, I think Giambi, Jeter, Stairs, Velarde, Bernie, Curtis, Saenz, Jaha, etc. can get it done offensively. I actually like the A's pitching that combines well with the Yanks. This will be a war in the Central!! Exactly how I like it. 8-)

**Keyzick--the Orioles are a good pick. I would suggest not using any of your Reds players.

Yeah, stickin' with the O's...they did the best of filling in what I thought were some gaps on my team (lack of left-handed bats, and better hitting at some key spots in the OF).

Not ideal, bet best available to fit my team...I think... :?

Besides, nothing worse than switching out the Orioles for another team, then see some other manager reel off 100 wins with the Orioles as one of their franchises....

I love my team defense...starting pitching is average...good bullpen...solid hitting especially given my ballpark choices.

Guess I'm happy afterall.

EAST can create league and start loading as soon as your two franchises are picked.

Remember:

$200M
DH
auto
frenzy (since we can only use our own franchises players and no one else)
advanced (why not grab some extra ratings points!)

Just let us know League Name and PW...

and remember...try to implement both your franchises names into your team name.

Thanks!!

And may the best team among you finish second to me!

Yep, Randy Johnson, Kevin Brown, Omar Daal, all in the same rotation - hopefully the team has no offense to go with all that pitching.

Yeah, East is looking very tough. It'll be interesting to see how Rant's pitchers perform against some very tough hitting in that division.
