[quote:67de0a72fe="toronto50"]Will this affect the start date of new cards (2011) ???[/quote:67de0a72fe]

I was also wondering that too.

WOW!!!
I have not been here much anymore, but

HOLY CRAP!
This is fantastic news! Best thing to happen to SOM Online since the addition of Bernie.

Someone posted early in this thread about a concern of whether Strat-O-Matic can handle all the technological stuff since it was not that long ago that the game still was on 3.5" floppy.
All Strat games and seasons are now available via download. In fact, the 2012 game (the game and 2011 set) launched today, and they have had no issues handling all of the traffic of TONS of people downloading the new game. I will be enjoying my 2011 set when I get home tonight. Woo!!!
Strat-o-Matic has been killing it in terms of getting themselves up to date. There was absolutely NO mention of them fixing, upgrading, or updating their Netplay capabilities with the new game. I have a feeling the move of this game to the company's home might be part of it.

YAY!!!!!

I agree with quote below

Postby Rjnewman » Mon Feb 20, 2012 4:07 pm

"I like the credit system that is in place. I would throw out a suggestion that all 3 division winners should get a free credit and the Wild Card team should have to win it all to get any. Too much luck in a best of 7 series to give a free credit based on it when you could win 105 games in the regular season and lose to an 80-82 club conceivably. If a Wild Card team won it all they would still get 2 credits. If anybody else won it all they still would only get 2 credits total. I think that would be more fair but the credit system is still cool. "

Good idea. Playoffs are more random than 162 game season.

A common complaint that comes up regularly is the price. With the middle man TSN out of the picture wondering if their profit margin might be removed from the price equation resulting in a lower price.

A good story

I admit I'm not so swift with technology. And true to that vein I removed the windows CD-ROM Strat seasons (two) from my computer by mistake. I did not remove the authroization or whatever it is you must do first befoe wiping out all signs of the game.

Anyhow, long story short, I emailed SOM at their site (techsupport@som.com I think) and they made it so I could use my registration cards again. They did not have to do that. So I like those guys.

Re: Keeper leagues

Postby fredpaii » Tue Feb 21, 2012 9:41 pm

[quote:a9d1e15084="Ninersphan"]That COULD be the most exciting aspect of this venture, the fact that Strat recognizes that many people play this game as a keeper format on a year to year basis.

I'd LOVE to see the site track keepers leagues featuring:

40 man rosters
Keeping track of all trades
Keeping track of records for determining draft order
LIVE draft functionality, ala the diamond dope site

[b:a9d1e15084]In short I'd love it if Strat would take over the commisoner duties for the 2 leagues I run. [/b:a9d1e15084]:D[/quote:a9d1e15084]

That would be AWESOME!!! Please do this!!!! Can't tell you how happy that would make me.

Existing full leagues in those games with an Opening Day of Monday, February 13 or earlier will play through to completion on the existing site, so it's "last call" for any new teams/leagues - if you fill up any leagues by Friday night, you can play them out starting the following Monday. All teams not in a full league by then will be credited back to you.

I have a 69 team outstanding and was just wondering when it would be credited back to me. Thank you
