Scabs league----All players under 2 mil

Postby KEVINEHLE » Mon Jul 03, 2006 2:51 pm

I somewhat agree with Kim. These posting board drafts are usually somewhat slow, but I think these 8 rounds will last us days the way we are going. The sad thing is that this is going to be a fun league but just can't get it kickstarted. I'm not sure of a 2 hour window, but there should be something we can do.

BTW, I'm also out here in the West. Kim is on the west coast and 3 hrs. behind the East. I'm in Boise, ID and we are at least 30 years behind the East Coast!!

Anyway, my idea may be a 2 hour time limit per pick. If the owner doesn't have proxies sent in and doesn't pick, the pick goes to the next guy. The skipped guy gets another hour. If doesn't come back, the next guys picks, etc. When the skipped person comes back, he can make his pick then. What do you guys think?

Kev---this is actually a twelve round draft..LOL...Most of the so-called studs are gone now anyway...I dought we would be able to fit 12 managers time schedules from all over the country.....However here is my proposal....lets go until noon on thursday like we are doing....At that point and time the draft is over and the teams can start entering. That would give us from noon thursday until friday midnite to get the league entered to insure monday kick off...I have to say though, if everyone would just send proxies we could keep it moving good....So if you're gonna be away for awhile send myself or Bombers your proxies...will be glad to handle em' for the sake of keeping it moving....I know things change from pick to pick and proxies are sometimes a gamble but at this stage of the draft not a whole lot of difference from pick to pick IMO anyway. Just my 2 cents anyway...I am in no hurry but could do all this anyway you guys want.

It has been almost 4 hours since the last pick. I propose we use a 2 hour clock just like we would have if the draft was on Penn's website. After 2 hours and 1 minute from the last pick the next person in line can pick skipping the tardy owner. The draft continues on like normal and the tardy owner can make his missed selection at any time.

I don't really care if we are loaded by Friday or not. I enjoy live drafts as long as they move along at a reasonable pace. My vote is to continue with this draft for the 12 rounds with a 2 hour timer that runs from 9AM-10PM EST. This would encourage timely checking in or proxies being given out and expedite the draft.

Of course another option would be to scrap the live draft all together and just AD the rest of the teams now.

OK, sounds good to me----How about starting in Rd 4-----two hour limit--If you miss your pick the draft continues. The manager who misses his pick can make it when he checks back in as his spot will be open..

If a pick is made after 10pm and before 9am EST the 2 hour clock will not start until 9am EST.

This is taking longer than anticipated. I am not available after Friday morning, There is a big festival i am going to. My propositions would be, cut it off at the last round we finsih on Thursday and then just do a normal draft. Or scrap it all and just do a normal draft. If there is a 2-hour draft limit, I will have to drop from the league. I find that as well as being logistically difficult, the joy is going out of the draft for me, having it go on so long. I'll go with the above solution, but my preference might be to start over with a more efficient structure.

Hope I am not being a wet balnket.
