Old situation thread

Postby pastorcz33 » Sat Feb 25, 2006 4:13 am

if som would work with you then i'd be interested...as i am sure others would be as well...especially if you did it for less. That is my one major beef with TSN $25 per season seems really stiff.

hey I didnt mean any disrespect either I haved just heard far to many people whining about this situation...I had not idea you had contributed so much

no prob at all, its good to have opinion.

I have spent 3 years improving this product. I create a live draft web app, a auction draft app, I created the SOM Tour. All had opinions and help from many of the long time dedicated users.

I just tired and pissed off with nothing in the end.

This upgrade set me off because if it was me running the project and it failed like this I would have lost my contract period (that is the expectation today!). Something like this doesnt happen in the business world. You dont see banks going down for a day, Ebay doesnt go down, Yahoo and so on. It IS NOT HARD TO HAVE A BACK UP PLAN.

Im sorry Im angry because its simply wrong in the software world to have this happen.

 :D :o

I am new to TSN strato I grew up on the board game and have always loved it. I really like the convenience of the TSN leauge not having to roll dice saves me time and means that I can play a full season without abandoning my family. SO I really like the product.

And from a business perspective I must admit that this was a colossal blunder but if they get this all squared away and we don't have to worry about it for another year or two then who cares? I mean how often does this kind of thing take place?

The concept is awesome but I dont think the company understands the market for it because they NEVER market to the right people!!

Its a huge blunder for anyone that understands upgrades (hardware or software). There is simply no excuse because they failed to have a fall back plan.

HECK!! I would have had ALL leagues run ON THE OLD SERVERS incase the NEW ONES DIDNT WORK. If the new ones didnt come up properly I would have switch over to the old ones where the results existed.

Why not run the results on the old servers which were not TOUCHED and run the results on the new servers to check if they worked? This is not rocket science it all. If the new ones worked make them the live servers.

geesh, its not rocket science and Im still pissed at 4:30 am!!!!

very easy to prevent.

Make sure you know if it works before you flip your new servers to live. If not dont flip them.

IF TSN employees havent work 36 hours on the problem they dont care enough!!! Im the world of software programmers work 36 hours to solve problems, I have several times when something like this has happened. Where is TSN???
