MM Team- a first for me

Postby visick » Thu Oct 26, 2006 3:34 pm

This is what I would do...

1. Dump Chipper for Betemit/Quinlan platoon.
2. Grab Griffey, dump Tavares.
3. Since Jeter can lead off for you vs. RH's, grab E. Young to DH for you and lead off vs. LH's.
4. Grab Mauer if you can, dump Miller. Either keep Pratt and platoon him or grab Greene for the same reason. (I'd prefer Greene)

If this works out, you would have Mauer, Griff and Abreu plus Betemit to combat the RH's.

Betemit hit .345 for me in Fenway with a .392 OB. Mainly because he saw alot of RH's and because he's not park dependant.

I'd try to keep Turnbow.

Maybe a cheap LH like Kazmir is what you need on the road. Or:

Downs
Moyer

A rev. RH like Towers or Harang is also good.

I traded for Bedard so I have one cheap lefty starter,

Betemit and Quinlan are avail as is Mauer, I will see what I can do with that one.

E. Young is not available.

This is what I have after Waivers:

What would the suggested line-ups be.
I have noticed that I don't have any clutch hitters, all are negative and some really bad.

Don't really have a back up for infield either right now, but most likely will change......I think

You don't need Turnbow and Cordero. I've had luck with both. Cordero saved 45 games for me @ Ameriquest.

If you keep Turnbow, he needs to S/U and close both ways. You should get him some better help though. Baldwin is not a good choice in your park. R. Hernandez is a good 2-3 inning eater, as is Carrara.

This team looks much better now, FWIW Bodie.

Navarro is fine. But Mauer is a righty killer and not BP dependant.

With Ellis, Griff and Betemit, you've got 3 guys that "could" lose a few games to injury. You don't have the B/U's for these guys.

But there are maybe 5/6 quality LHSP that get out RHH in this years set and even less LHRP so this won't hurt too much.
