First Rounders 2007

I never take a pitcher before the third round. Manny gets hurt too. That can kill you in a close race. I would pick a pitcher third. My philosophy, OBP, defense, solid pitching. I won a 200ml league with one 6ml and two 5ml dollar pitchers and a solid bullpen. Just my opinion.

Actually Hafner has a 1 injury ratting so I would take him over Ortiz for DH. Actually, this year SP is scarce so you wil probably seem the best go in the 1st rd.

 Beware, having a 1 rating doesn't mean low injury. I had Jim edmonds couple years ago with a 1-rating and he missed 15-games twice and cost me a playoff spot. Look at how many games they played within the 1-rating. Players with few games may have 1-ratings but be out 7-15 games at a shot. Still think drafting a pitcher in first round with high draft pick is unnecessary.

Yes, I realized Hafner doesn't have the 600 PA, and Ortiz does so I went with Ortiz instead. Would anybody have considered other picks like Sizemore, Mauer or Howard at 4 after Beltran, Pujols and Jeter are picked?

I would have gone with either Ortiz or Howard...Howard 1st probably....better D and the novelty of the card(I had Ortiz before).

Who can argue with that pick, but there are a few SOs on that card too. i've gotten Howard when I can and Ortiz, too, so I'm thinking with you. Isn't pitching very thin this year at the top?

[quote:5ba6fae11d="Free Radicals"]Grab a stud pitcher in your 1st 3 picks is what I would recommend . Hitters are plentiful , stud pitching is not .[/quote:5ba6fae11d]

Sssh FR!

How valuable do you think a Papelbon can be here?
