Can anyone solve this mystery?

hmm... i don't think it's your hitting bed.... 5 runs per game is nice looks like you are getting all your runs as AB x slg x obp = 255 spot on.

giving up 5.17 runs is the problem. carlos z is not such a good choice for that park.... 32+ obp vs lhp is asking for trouble.

I like how this thread has become an oasis for all those teams out there that are anyway from a 15-35% through the year and have found that their original plan isn't working out as they had hoped. In other types of fantasy sports you can e-mail a so called "expert" and if they deem your story compelling enough they could address it in a mailbag.

By contrast this forum allows people not only access to far more minds than seeking the advice of single pundit and also all but ensures that your question will be addressed. Additionally I find that looking over all these teams that are underperforming and trying to deduce what is wrong with them is a great mental exercise.

While Strato is a game of chance and sometimes a team's subpar performance is luck related but there are plenty of times when a key element is being overlooked or the wrong personal is being used. I find it infinitely helpful to review teams that are not my own, try to find their weaknesses, and suggest solutions. It is like taking a graduate program in Strat-O-Matic with lots of case studies.

You are so right Urishade,

I struggled for the longest time until I started asking questions and getting advice from those here on the boards and my success rate has greatly improved.

I was missing out on so many little hidden pearls, and now my eyes have been opened.

I for one, always post teams here for the masses to inspect. I sometimes agree and other times disagree with the posts. It is nice to have someone else take a look at a distance and evaluate your work.

It sure doesn't hurt. You are the one ultimately responsible for your teams' management.

Great observations.

I have to agree with PuckinDrunk and urishade...it's easy to get caught up in your own line of thought and become blind to something that's obvious to an outside observer.

Case in point: urishade pointed out my team's bias towards LHP's in a league that's 75% RHP. Don't know why I hadn't acted on that myself...so put out trade feelers (no bites yet), but made an immediate switch to a platoon at Catcher (Pierzynski/Buck). Small change, but could be enough to tip the scales for now....heck, I took 2 of 3 last night, so it's a good start!!

That's also cool - seeing how people fare after taking (or not taking) advice....

Here is a team that was Live Drafted with unique stadiums. I have Yankee Stadium (I have tried different plans and nothing works at Yankee Stadium. Not much left in the pool after waivers. I love the feedback. SGT D

My first impression is where the heck is everyone going to play? You have three 1B and two 3B. So you have five guys for three spots (1B, 3B, & DH). The you have some crappy defenders, albeit good hitters, at 2b & SS. Now maybe that is your plan to use those guys there but that still leaves you with too many guys on the corners.

Your OF seems a little short. Dejesus is a very nice option vs. lefties but is injury prone and while Holiday is good in LF Giles seems rather weak in RF. I would look into trading off your depth at 1b & 3B to bolster you OF and if you are so inclined to upgrade your middle infield defense.
