Apparently you missed Arod in the 95' playoffs, the 04' ALDS against the Twins, and Bonds' last postseason performance which was legendary.

???

That has nothing to do with it. Last time I checked there was 24 other guys on the roster.

If I said Pujols was a bust because he's never won a world series you'd say I was nuts, right?

You may not be able to understand it (or can't buy it), but I wouldn't want A Rod on my team. Period. Like I said, it's just like I'd prefer not to have Manny Ramirez on my team. Great talent, but they're just guys that rub me the wrong way.

Jeter on the other hand is a different story. He's a Yankee that most would probably love to see on their team. Giambi...no. Matsui....maybe. Sheffield...hell no (I'd rather have A Rod). Rivera..yes.

So you see, there are Yankees that I see as stand up guys that also have a lot of talent. But just because someone can hit 49 home runs doesn't necessarily make him someone that I'd want on my taeam. Now granted, if such player (such as Manny Ramirez) is on a team I like, then sure I'll cheer for him to do well because if he does well then the team I cheer for will hopefully do well. But if you ask me whether I'd rather see my team invest such money on different players, I have to say absoluletly.

Last time I checked, the team that has won the World Series has never had A Rod on their roster in that year. One player does not make a World Series champion.

Well said mav, and I agree. Remember the late 90's? It was hard to [i:c258e9d1b3]really[/i:c258e9d1b3] dislike guys like O'Neill, Brosius, Pettitte, Bernie, but I find myself feeling an absolute loathing for Sheff, Giambi (I love watching him try to throw!) ARod and RJ (man, what a punk he turned out to be). I actually feel sorry for Jeter and Mo. And I agree about Manny, an extraordinary hitter...but what a pain in the ass.

Mav, if you want a good laugh, check out http://yankeefan.blogspot.com/. Read the comments after today's "article". Priceless. (This is normally a well-written, informative site.)

As bleak as things look for the Yanks these days, I was really impressed by Cano. This kid looks very much like the real deal.

Frank, do you like banks as player? I should say it like this: question is: what is more important to a team, regular season stats or winning a championship? Arod thinks he is the "team" , players like that are self-centered and dont win championships, like i wonder something here, since arod knows that he was slumping during the playoffs, why didnt he try something different? like go the other way then try hitting one out of the park? or why didnt he bunt for hit, he has speed. noone would except him to bunt, right?

2000 Seattle Mariners 91-61
ARod leaves
2001 Seattle Mariners 116-46

2003 Texas Rangers 71-91
ARod leaves
2004 Texas Rangers 89-73

The Rangers improved by a whopping 2 games when ARod came to town.

The Yankees have slowly moved backwards since ARod came to town.

Coincidence????

I understand what U/R saying. Winning a Championship is what its all about no doubt. But to put blame on any one player is a bit extreme. I will stand by the fact that the Yankees lost not b/c of A-Rod alone but others as well.
