what is a SUPEr reliever as someone referred to ...

I called K Rod a super reliever because I could put him in as both setup and closer to both sides and dont bring in before 7th inning. That way in a close game he pitches three innings for me often two of the three games in the set.

This is a reliever who by whatever settings you can manipulate to get very high inning counts and still be effective.

It has been a subject of considerable debate on the boards. Some believe this to be unrealistic and unfair and a few go so far as to call it gaming the game or even cheating. Others believe it to be a necessary evil due to our limited rosters. I fall in to this camp somewhat as in my view you are going from spreading your bullpen out from among possibly a dozen guys including callups during the season to a set 3 to 5 relievers in our online strat. A few take it to extremes believing it to be the secret to success and all happiness in life. :D

Most likely nobody answered you because this issue has been debated so much nobody wants to talk about it any more. Nothing new to say. Hopefully I have sufficiently described it for you to rouighly understand the term without sparking another debate here. Please everyone if I have failed to reach that goal just ignore me. :lol:

so what you are saying is that if i have Krod i can ,in my manger settings put him as set up man AND closer????

and he will be effective and do both?

so its kind of a waste to have krod and bj ryan?

for the money yes.... i like calero or rincon with e ramirez and a cheapy closer platoon myself see julio putz and their ilk.
