Gotta say that Pat Tabler's been great for me, as has Raines (after a slow start). I've also had Tony Pena and Mitch Webster perform better than their real life stats on a team in the Astrodome.

Value? Consider Tony Phillips as a platoon DH (vs. LHP) or even a 2B.
Also, consider Nolan Ryan. I have him at about 180 innings, with hits around 120 and Ks over 200. He's been great, not too expensive, and his only downside is the lack of a *. Want a cheap pitcher ($1million) with a *? Consider Mark Langston.

Some really nice value players for me have been Horner, Fisk, L. Smith, C. Moore and on the hill I have to say Rawley, John, Boever and Denny

I recently acquired Horner in a trade, and although he has done well vs. LHP in the few ABs he has had, he has been poor vs. RHP for me. You consider him a good value at $3.76M when he can only hit LHP?
