[quote:dc7ba7814a="old__toriihunter"][quote:dc7ba7814a="Rant"]dropping Blevins for Byrdak, and upgrading Corcoran for a rp like Wade or Devine.
[/quote:dc7ba7814a]

This is what I'd focus on. Neither Blevins or Corcoran benefits from you being in a singles park (they don't have BPHR's on their cards). So unless you are facing a lot of HR parks, they are very expendable. If you turn them into 1 stud, you can make sure the new pitcher is the SU man vs L's and R's, therefore channeling those innings to a better overall pitcher. Dotel will pick up the remainder of the innings.

Love your offense, by the way (with the exception of Burke...maybe there's an option that won't clog the bases?)[/quote:dc7ba7814a]

With an 80% drop I'm a bit restricted on who I can pick up w/o dropping a starter. If I swap in Byrdak, I'm looking at $2.68M. I'm seeing a slight trend toward righties facing left-handed batters, but not so much that it's an extreme.

That leaves me with guys like Delcarmen, Francisco, Ohman, Linebrink. Do you think I'm getting that much more from them, or should I go for a more serious upgrade?

Not too many lefthand specialist speedster catchers at the $.50 level, or were you thinking about Butler? I see someone dropped Keppinger, and I can pick him up without much loss.

Team rates 1895. That's not a great rating.

Some general comments about your squad:

- You're colse to acceptable offense-wise v RHP, but pretty weak v LHP.
- You start 5 W Power guys v LHP and 4 v RHP. Even in AT&T that's a lot.
- Your O is dependent on 4 hitters each way and keeping guys like Jones, Alou and Prado healthy. Your bench is injury prone also.
- Your D is average-ish

Summary - Your O is average v RHP and below v LHP. Your pitching is so-so and your D is so-so.

Looks like there was some luck involved at the beginning there. Good luck with the rest of the season OTH.

I'm still well out of it at 54-63. My guys are still hitting well, .306 .363 .428. Probably why my Exp.W/L is 62-55.

Looks like I brought you bad luck there by posting

My season just ended. I wound up out of the playoffs by five games. My team made a major push at the end, but didn't have enough time. I finished with two twenty game winners and one twenty game loser. Big difference was that my pitching settled down during the last quarter of the season. My hitting stayed very strong (despite Joe's ratings )

My expanded W/L was tied for first in the league (94 wins); a +11 differential from my real W/L. Ouch. Maybe Joe's intangibles were the difference?
