JETER

Postby 1crazycanuk » Thu Feb 09, 2006 8:53 am

I'm happy with Izturis. I like speed (that's running speed in case y'all didnt' know...have to be clear in this "steroid" age).

I'd rather have Jeter than Wilson in Petco. I had Wilson in Petco and he couldn't hit a beach ball. I don't know why everyone knocks Jeter's offence...do you see the offence he produces in real life???

I've never tried Jeter, probably because of his high price and no obvious power vs Righties. However, I would use him if I got him in a draft.

I usually use Rollins, Vizquel, Izturis, Clayton...people with 2 range as I value D down the middle over power.

If I'm going to spend 6.86 mil on a position player, I expect 30-40 HR, strong hit+XBH numbers, and good OB on his card. I can get a 2 SS that plays 158 games, hits 275, and has good speed for less than half that money, and without spending a draft pick on him.

I have Itz rated ahead of Jeter in most parks, agree he won't give you that XB sock but the "1" is very, very important.

Jack Wilson a BUM????? Keep leaving him on the FA list--I'll take him everytime he is not drafted. Then again, he won't be undrafted in any league I'm in. Here is my last team with Wilson as my everyday SS. Batted him 2d or 3d most of the year. Stadium: Kauffman--

AB-686 R-109 2b-40 HR-29 RBI-94 BB-23 SB-5 E-20

Avg--.318 Slg--529 OBP--.340.

I'd say that's pretty good production.

OH Yeah---Forgot to add that Wilson lead the league in HR vs LH with 19 .---and lead the team offensively to win my division. Lost in the playoffs but he done his part for sure.

I agree that Wilson is solid, but I think your numbers may have been a little unusual(what parks in your div.?). I've had him in Kaufmann and SBC, and he did around .280/.320 ba/obp.

I think that he is a little overpriced for a "2"

A wrigley and 2--coors. I know that helped with the power # but I'll take him anyday. Made a few to many errors but acceptable IMO--with his 2 who really knows how many plays he makes that others can't.

I had Wilson in Petco with TWO other Petco teams in my division and he put up numbers that a Little Leaguer could destroy. As long as I play in Petco...you could have him. Take him.
