It's a great step forward.
However I must speak on behalf of several of us who are probably thinking the same as I am, and most who know me probably already know where I'm going with this...

I was excited when the 90s mystery card game came out on the main site because it was [i:0d4c4613e3]assumed[/i:0d4c4613e3] that it would get [i:0d4c4613e3]all[/i:0d4c4613e3] the new features and upgrades that the other games would get. This is not the first time the 90s game has been ignored with a new feature or upgrade (7 game semi-finals anyone?).
If the same thing is going to be happening to the 70s and 80s games if/when they get transferred over to the main site... then why bother? In fact, why not just move the 90s game off the main site so it can continue to be ignored.

I guess you can't please everyone, so just please as many as you can.

Voovits: I understand the general feeling of isolation that 70s/80s managers have felt in the past, but let's not be hasty to extrapolate something like this into some persecution against the '90s game or any other. The reason the 7-game Semis and the expanded 24-team league Playoffs haven't made it into older player sets is that it's logistically MUCH easier to implement changes like this for new sets that haven't started any leagues yet. When you've got an existing player set, like Back to the '90s, that has leagues starting and finishing playoffs every week, it's a logistical struggle to put something in that changes how they work.

It's not impossible, though. And thus, I hope to do it eventually. And I do see an opportunity coming down the pipe to do so... but I can't say when or promise anything at this time.

Just try not to assume that if I haven't done something, that I'm never going to. Or that if I haven't spelled out every reason I have for doing/not doing something, that I don't have one.

Keep the faith!

Thanks for addressing the mystery games Bernie. I am with Voovits in having thought that the 90's game was lined up to get all the latest improvements. It's always helpful to hear what the reasons are that it isn't that simple and that we may yet be getting those improvements. Thanks for all of the hard work, please don't take what we say as anything overly negative; we know you are working hard and appreciate the improvements you do make. Take care!

Your explanation has further confused me. So, the 90s game has 24 team leagues (or just any league in general) that are starting and finishing playoffs every week, so that makes it more difficult to implement.
So does that mean the 2010 season and ATGVI player sets do NOT have playoffs starting and finishing every week? That makes no sense to me.

As an addendum to what I said earlier, I did not expect the feature to be added to 70s and 80s games, the gripe was about the 90s game only.

I know you work hard, and I am not implying that you do not work hard, or that you do a bad job. That simply is not the case. You work very hard and do a great job for strat online. If you are saying that there is still hope for the new 24 team playoff format and a 7 game semi-finals for the 90s game sometime down the line, then that is fine.

I'm sorry for the tone of my first message, I got a bit frustrated. I'm OK now. :D

The Semi-Finals was expanded from 5 games to 7 games in concert with the introduction of ATG VI, and then the 2010 set followed, so there were no immediately impending playoffs to deal with.

There were few enough 24-team leagues approaching their playoffs in 2010 and ATG VI to be able to expand the playoffs to 3 rounds as a general rule fairly conveniently - those leagues simply did not get the change.

Since the '90s set hasn't gotten the 7-game Semis yet, it's not getting the 3-round playoffs for 24-team leagues, for the sake of consistency and clarity. At this very moment, it's not ready to adopt both of these changes.

Yet.
