ANNOUNCEMENT: Strat-O-Matic.com to be taking over SOM Online

Postby macnole » Fri Feb 03, 2012 3:40 pm

I don't get how there could be any negativity about something we haven't even seen yet.

There is absolutely nothing negative about what he posted. Maybe perceived second order effects--which are not addressed here because they are unknown.

Bernie-thanks--great news and looking forward to assessing the new product.

anything in the works for Fantasy league type formats?

Postby Rjnewman » Fri Feb 03, 2012 4:48 pm

Where a commissioner could form a league and decide what prizes were offered above and beyond credits? For example a 100 dollar league would cost 124.95 the site would get the same per team fee and give out the same credits as rewards. The commissioner of private leaque could distribute prize money to winners...This may attract a lot of interest like ESPN and CBS sportsline does.

Keeper leagues

Postby Ninersphan » Fri Feb 03, 2012 5:19 pm

That COULD be the most exciting aspect of this venture, the fact that Strat recognizes that many people play this game as a keeper format on a year to year basis.

I'd LOVE to see the site track keepers leagues featuring:

40 man rosters
Keeping track of all trades
Keeping track of records for determining draft order
LIVE draft functionality, ala the diamond dope site

In short I'd love it if Strat would take over the commisoner duties for the 2 leagues I run. :D

I'm curious when older games will return. I've been meaning to try 1969 but haven't gotten around to it yet. I wonder if I should try to get into a league asap or just wait.
