[quote:99d10896df="AeroDave10"]While everyone seems to be ecstatic about the new playoff method, I really don't see it as that significant of an improvement. Wasn't the payout scheme the same before? It seems like the only difference is that you have a better chance to at least be in the playoffs. However, you still have to win the quarterfinals AND semifinals to win a credit if you don't win your division outright. That is quite a daunting task given how nebulous the playoff results can be.
Am I the only one seeing this?[/quote:99d10896df]
Your odds of winning a credit are better with the new format. In a 12-team league exactly 1/6 of the teams will win a credit.
In a 24-team, there will always be a [i:99d10896df]minimum[/i:99d10896df] of 1/6 of the teams winning a credit and up to two additional teams winning a credit if a wild-card team or two makes it to the finals.
I understand as a wild-card you have to win two series to get a credit, but your odds are still 100 percent better to get a credit than before!
Also, in a 24-team league, you can win a credit without even winning a playoff game; in a 12-team league, you have to win a series to get a credit.
