Am I on pace for the best '06 record yet, with my first team?

Postby ahsbball05 » Mon Aug 14, 2006 2:45 pm

thanks ALOT jerry and Aray! I probably did spit out too many stats on how my team was doing, but at 93-54 I'm still doing well....I am just a bit too excited for my first team. And people can keep saying how my "parts" are crappy, but if you add up the cards, especially platooned they are very very good for their price, and although I have an average defense, my RP are holding it down, and SP are doing their job....my team MVP is DEFINATELY Helling and his R3....I blame that and the "parts" for my success.....that's a great analogy!

I don't really consider 9-6 a slump  , but it's no 9-2! nice finish.....I rested some injury prone players down the stretch instead of going for a better record...now I get to face the 2nd best team in the league, my division mate! Great luck in the playoffs, and let's get some more credits so we can do this all again :P Let me know how you do!

Actually the answer was YES, I [b:9c75901cae]WAS[/b:9c75901cae] on pace for the best record yet! You're a moron. I was on pace for 106 wins at the time of the post, and 105 is the highest I've heard. That was the information I was seeking, 105 wins is the record so far. So shut up and think before typing.

Hey guys, don't be too hard on Ashball. So what if he's the latest naive newbie to get lucky and think he's a genius. It's no wonder he's a little touchy after all his bragging...not only did his great first team crash in the semis, his great SECOND team may be on pace for the WORST record in 2006.

Even though I just bumped this to the top, I can't believe this thread keeps getting bumped to the top!!! The guy had a good team, 100 plus wins is an accomplishment. I saw little, if any overly boastful posts, and I for one, am happy another player with some passion for the game has entered the community.

What Jerlins said. Good work ashball. 100 wins is an accomplishment all its own.

Thanks again and again guys...sorry I just didn't see any reason for the post by that guy. I did lose the semi's in 5 games, my SP had a couple of bad starts, which can happen when you have Loe starting a game, and Kazmir against 7 R, and you play in the Cell, lost my #2 RP for game 5 because of fatigue in 3 and 4, and the cheapies gave up the game winning runs late......and about my second team(which is *only* 31-44, and is playing WAY below pythagreon theorum with my even run differential...which is [/b]BETTER[/b] then BOTH of the teams I'm trailing in the Wild Card by 8 games! how? haha), here's the link if you wanted to look at it. I like to try different themes, and at first was going to go low hit, high strikeout mostly stud pitchers with all 1's on D, but after deciding that those hudson, wilson, etc hitting weren't going to get me anywhere(although my hitters are way underperforming), and dropping andruw jones and his .223, .316, .429 line through 63 games(<.200, <.300, <.400 at home :X) I now have 0 1's on D(although mostly 2's)

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/2006/team/team_other.html?user_id=7950

now I'm not just complaining, I do want feedback because I know my teams under-hitting to this EXTENT even in Petco is ridiculous...I would like to be CORRECTED if I'm completely wrong...

here are my stats and lineup vs RHP and LHP...

.239, .304, .379

Youkillis
Duffy
Clark
LHarris
MOrdonez
Singleton
AGonzalez
Redmond
Cano

vs LHP

.242, .321, .353

Youkillis
Duffy
Bell
MOrdonez
Clark
Renteria
GAnderson
RSanchez
Redmond

Youkillis, Duffy, Redmond, McLouth, AGonzo, and Cano are OBPing .277 vs RHP!!! That's ridiculous even in Petco.

GAnderson, who has 80 AB vs LHP is hitting .191, .261, .202 vs LHP!!! He's got a GOOD cheap card vs LHP, I don't understand, not to mention his .111, .200, .178 stats vs RHP in 40 AB?? Have to be mostly unlucky rolls right?

for pitching, Zito's ERA is 5 and WHIP is 1.50, and lefties are hitting .288 vs Santana (remember I'm playing in Petco, and if those 6 players can OBP .277 vs RHP(home AND away combined), lefties should NOT hit .288 vs Santana), although I don't think the pitchers are underforming much/at all except maybe the LHB vs Santana which should go down...in Petco including BPHR and BP1B there are only 18.2 hit chances vs LHP on his card which means when they land on his card hitters are going to hit .169, and I doubt that the average LHB I've faced's card reads [b:ed3bd22b74].407[/b:ed3bd22b74] vs LEFTIES in [b:ed3bd22b74]petco[/b:ed3bd22b74]

I would actually REALLY [b:ed3bd22b74]appreciate[/b:ed3bd22b74] some feedback or answers to if some of these guys are seriously underperforming and should pick up, because i know(think) they should....if someone could actually address a couple of my concerns that would be awesome, basically you guys are right....[b:ed3bd22b74]STRAT IS MY PASSION!!![/b:ed3bd22b74]

PS, after dropping Duffy I have 3.35 mil to work with and obviously NEEEEEEEED to add some hitting, so if anyone has ANY suggestions on who I could replace and who would do ANYTHING in Petco, especially vs RHP, that would be greatly appreciated!![b:ed3bd22b74][/b:ed3bd22b74]

was thinking, and this COULD help shake up the hitting, adding Hudson to replace Cano vs RHP and maybe Sanchez vs LHP although Sanchez is ALOT better vs LHP...it actually would not add anything from cards, but would the better D help? obviously yeah, but maybe only vs RHP, and shouldn't I just concentrate on hitting?[/b]
