Damn, does anyone care about this potential league anymore?

I care. But I'd also jump ship should someone set up a similar, but modified league that could draw a full card.

Since the person who started this thread hasn't checked in for five days, can we declare this league dead?

If anyone wants to start another real teams league, you can count on me.

I'm still here, just waiting for the league to fill, I think the most viable alternative of those mentioned is to remove the necessity to have a certain amount of carded players and draft free for all with people who once played for your team ala the 80's style theme of similar intent. That of course destroys the original intent, but maybe the original intent would be best played after the baseball season with people who have some accumulated credits and won't worry so much about the perception they can't win. I've just heard some suggestions, but not more than one or 2 who second any particular idea. If most of the people want to modify it, check in, say so and how and we'll just let majority rule I guess.

I like the original concept. However, I can live with any of the proposed modifications, except for a draft free for all with people who once played for your team.

I'll agree with anything to get the league to fill. :D

I think either the draft free for all or reducing the salary cap to $60M will make the league more competitive. People with the better teams shouldn't be afraid of the free for all, they'll just have to carefully prioritize their picks.

I vote for the free for all since I mistakenly thought that was the case when I signed up.

Ok, I've been thinking about it, how does this sound.

Every person must keep 19 of their carded players on their roster at all time. Your carded players are yours only. You can have players of any salary on your team if they played for you team before, and are not anyone elses carded player.

Then to help the less fortunate, we have tiers of allowed salary for those players that never played on your team, and are not carded to you.

Tier 1, 2 mil max:
NYY
STL
ATL
PHI
MIL

Tier 2, 2.7 mil max:
OAK
CLE
FLA
CHW
HOU
SD
BOS

Tier 3, 3.5 mil max:
MIN
LAA
NYM
CHC
TEX
TOR
BAL

Tier 4, 4.2 mil max:
WAS
DET
CIN
PIT
ARI
SEA

Tier 5, 5 mil max:
LAD
TB
KC
COL
SF

Remember, these are for any player. Tiers are based on total franchise value in SOM. Does that appease everyone?

As a casual observer with no bias as I am not entered, I think this proposal might get the league off the ground.

Top 4 teams: Must have all 24 of their teams carded players, can not have a team player that is not carded to their team. If you truly want to play a team without a decided advantage over another team, wouldn't this make more sense? My guess is that if the owner of the Yankees franchise is forced to play with nothing but carded Yankees, you'd get 12 teams in a heartbeat.

As for the other 8 teams, the rest of Geekor's proposal would make sense.

Good luck to you folks in coming up with a proposal that will make everyone happy so that you guys can get up and running.
