--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cummings: There are no rules to level the playing field. You don't even have to announce the stadium ahead of time.

This strong medicine you rooks need to take straight up without a chaser.
(Might as well smacktalk now before I get my a$$ kicked! )

Welcome DT, now we just need two more victims...err...rookies.

1. tyber90 (grizzled vet)
2. cummings2 (green, inocent, kind and naive rookie)
3. etdefender (vet of superior skill and intellect)
4. stoney18 (been beaten by the best and keep coming back for more)

CENTRAL

1. charliewb (not-so grizzled vet)
2. detroit-tigers (WOW vet)
3. robvoz (High heeled, leotard/Gstring wearin', mini skirted - Dancin' Vet)
4.

WEST

1. JdEarly ("Rookie", and I will let you guys off the hook by joining a different division)
2. Jeff ("Rookie" with scary talent)
3. penngray (I have credit burn, Bring it on!! )
4. fillies2 ( a glass 1/2 full Vet)

C'mon into the Central Division JD - If you dare.

Call me rookie and roast me slowly

Postby maligned » Tue Nov 01, 2005 8:41 am

Calling me anything but a rookie would be like calling Larry Lucchino Boston's favorite son this morning. This will be my first experience with strat online, period. I have three quick questions before I jump in:

1. When I buy my team, how do I make sure I go to this league and get signed up?

2. How do I make sure I conceal the lineup and ballpark I'm choosing until the draft? Is there a trick?

3. I read through all the posts several times but still am not completely clear on this from the horse's mouth (Tyber)...we will do waiver, not frenzy, correct?

Let me know if there's anything else I might screw up in not getting things set up. I'm ready for my tail to be kicked; I don't want to miss the opportunity before it even starts.

Welcome maligned, you brave soul.

When you buy a team make sure it's 2005. You create your team and then sign up for a league. This will be set up as a private league and instructions to join will be pretty clear.

When you start drafting your team and picking your ballpark none of us will see what your are doing. After the draft is done then we'll know which park you are in. You can change your lineups every day if you wish.

In the strategy forum there is a thread called "Newbie Advice Thread". Make sure and read this. It will help eliminate a few of the rookie mistakes and get you up to speed faster.

Good luck and let's kick some Vet Butt!

Welcome aboard Maligned!

This is pretty much a regular league. No need to announce stadiums ahead of time. Just draft your team per TSN's instructions and pick your park. Now, when you are done and it's time to join a league, you'll pick 'join private league' and look for the league name that I'll create.
Now then, because we are in set divisions, I'll send the password to the boys in the EAST division first. They'll pass it on the the CENTRAL and then finally on to the WEST.

EVERYONE: How about we shoot for a Wednesday or Thursday draft at the latest OR would the rooks like the benefit of an extra week to set and tweak their teams? I'll create a poll for this so we can decide AND so that we know everyone is onboard.

FINALLY: This is a normal waivers (no frenzy)

How can I field a competitive team when my players can't stop laughing at robvoz outfit?

Welcome to both robvoz and maligned!

cummings2, my horde team turnaround started after I took your advice. You may be a rookie as far as number of seasons under your belt, but the other rookies (and vets) would do well to listen to your sage advice. By the way, I have this team in a rook/vet league, could you ... uh, never mind.

This is gonna be fun.

Don't worry Charlie, the league will be providing blindfolds to anyone playing Rob's team. :D

I agree with you BTW about the craftiness and wisdom of Cummings, that's why I'm spiking the water cooler of his team whenever he's in town.

HEY...

Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Tue Nov 01, 2005 12:52 pm

If JaserD can play the last 4 years without wearing any pants - I can wear my outfit for this league - Isn't that the whole idea of the Cyber Version of this game? You can be anybody you want - Heck, I can tell leak just this one time that my REAL name is Mark Fidrych. Who could prove or disprove it, right?

In the words of Sammy Davis Jr. - "I gotta' be me...Oh, yeah, Man..."

Dammit Rob! You just HAD to remind me of that bad visual didn't you! It took me months of therapy to get the JaserD not wearing any pants image out of my head!

(Scheduling an appt. with my therapist as we speak) :?
