Handicap

Postby IrishJoe » Thu Nov 02, 2006 8:17 pm

Here's a question, can we swap handicaps as part of player trades before the season starts?

swapping handicaps and out of position team

Postby rgimbel » Fri Nov 03, 2006 9:22 am

I would say no to swapping handicaps and as far as the out of position team yes there are players like cabrera that you want out of position but the difficulty in picking this handicap is getting the players that work otherwise could be a logistical nightmare, or it could work out to no handicap at all

I generally get mediocre to miserable draft position, but seldom has it been this deep and in a league where it's MOST painful  ....I look at the top three and say, that's not bad at all :D ...the next couple and say, well, it's a handicap, but definetly doable. :P : and then the last few and say, that's not as bad as it looks, I could work with that, maybe even build a successful team. then there's what's left....

plus we have arryl picking ahead of us rg, so if there's anything even remotely reasonable left to deal with, he'll take it. if spicki can make crazy 8's work, he's even better than I thought he was. one of us is sacked with rule 12, which may be mine...that way when I have the worst record after 81-games, I just make a trade with myself...sort of like the deal with the devil I made joining this league!
so it's that, or, the more diabolical rule 666, where the league votes on which of your two best to say sayonara to (maybe we should have put the 10m and 6.5m limit on those two too!), or door #3, rule 10, more than half your team must play out of position.

Im serious about rule 666 by the way...might be more reasonable to put same cap on that rule as the forced trade in rule 12, but ofcourse faced with the prospect of having that doesn't help my arguement, but wouldn't neccesarily want anyone in the league to have to cough up a pair of 10m plus players halfway thru the season. wouldn't a 10m and 6.5 million, and losing all rights to them be more than enough penalty, considering what will be left in the f-a pool to replace them with?
