"Civil War" Theme League

Postby KEVINEHLE » Tue May 09, 2006 9:30 am

Well, I'm good with a seven round draft. Who needs to work anyway? I'll keep an eye on these boards as we go along. BTW, we know the outcome of the civil war. The North ends up prevailing. You Southerners can win the battles, but us northerners will win the war. The new Nation's capital will be Boise, Idaho. We will plow under all the cotton fields in the South and grow potatoes. No one will have anything to wear, but we will all be well fed. Fat and Naked will be our new nation's motto.

C-O-O-L--------------we are full.. Lotto tonite for draft order..Each league can start its own draft on the individual chat forum......7 rounds..Will post results in the am and we can kick off the drafts for both armies....Everyone post your General/managers name so he is not duplicated, Fort you will be defending (Park) can remain hidden until AD..If more than one of your sides team use the same park that is ok..We'll just assume there is alot of fighting going on in that area.

"Franz Siegal" :?: Like in the fancy stores???? Like, OMG, I'm like sooo over that one

Just to scare my fellow northern Generals they'll be wondering if it is a good thing to have me on their side now.

O.K. I'll crack open my idiots guide to the idiots guide to find out which idiot's guide I have to refer to in order to catch up in my Generals and choose appropiately.

No more wise cracks from now on...I'll try to be on good, appropiate behaviour...just couldn't help that one.

BTW, did I read this correct and the Loto will be high to low? Meaning high number picks 1st and so on? No probs with me, just double checking since it's usually low picks first in my limited experience.

His name is actually Franz Sigel.

I am going to go with Lt. George Dixon. He commanded the C.S.S. Hunley submarine on its final voyage in Charleston Harbor. This was the first submarine in the world to sink an enemy ship. (Of course the Hunley did not survive the attack either.)

Other commanders to pick from include:

Union
Joshua Chamberlain (hero of Gettysburg)
John Buford (cavalry)
George Custer (cavalry)
David Farragut (Navy)
Winfield Scott Hancock
Oliver Howard
John Reynolds
Phil Sheridan (cavalry)
John Pope
Andrew Foote (Navy)
Don Buell

CSA
John Gordon
Nathan Bedford Forrest (cavalry)
Raphael Semmes (Navy)
Leonidas Polk (the fighting Bishop)
Lafayette McClaws
William Hardee
John Breckinridge
John Moseby (cavalry)

I know it's Franz and not Fred...it was supposed to be a joke BUT, since there seems no be room for a llittle kidding on the side...I think I'll take Joshua Chamberlain, whom if memory serves me well he was the one that prevented the confeds from flanking in Gettys didn't he? I believe he was originally from Maine (if my scant memory serves me well) what I don't remeber was the army he headed. So, my team will be Maine (His army) Commanded by J.Chamberlain if it's cool with all of you.

I think he held the post in Little Top or Table top or something like that in Gettysburg (I told you I don't know much about the civil war) BUT I haven't cracked open any idiot's guides, THAT was also supposed to be a joke, and no I don't usally speak with "likes" and "OMGs"...that was als part of the joke, but since it seems it's all too serious, I'll keep my humor to myself.

So, nicely, respectfully and in the most (yawn) strato-militaristic way, could I get a an answer to my question re: loto numbers and draft order.

Stonwall Jackson, of course, will be my General of the Chattanooga Choo Choose.

Not to beat a dead horse, but we only choose players from the Southern teams listed above. :?: :?: My brain has been slow lately :!: :!:

Cummings, We like to joke around and have fun too! I just don't know who or what you were referring to about fancy stores with Franz Siegal. :?

The North players may only pick players from the "north" teams and the South players may only pick players from the "south" teams that were identified earlier.
