Bad Luck or Bad Team?

Is this just my bad luck, or have I just lost it and is this simply a bad team? Link below.

Playing in Fenway with Metrodome, Comerica, and Busch in my division. Dead last in runs scored, but players are for the most part performing to their cards, and hitting v. L/R is just about balanced. Facing 65% RHP, which is what I anticipated and built my lineup for.

After 40 games, Haren, Spurling and Ray were getting shelled, so I dropped them (and CF Wilkerson) in favor of Fossum, Williams, Dominguez, Geary, and Hermanson to go with matchup SP, give the pen more depth, and move expensive Turnbow into a setup role.

Since these moves, ERA is down a half point, but I'm still playing about .350 baseball.

I must be missing something, so any help would be appreciated.

Emart----The biggest thing I see is you have no speed at the top of your lineup....Your leadoff hitters--have score only around 50 runs between the two of em' and have been thrown out 7 of 12 times stealing.....My personal opinion is you need to scrap some of your power and get you a legitimate leadoff hitter who can leadoff both ways//has great speed and can score you some runs....Your power hitters are great but I would bet they are hitting a ton of solo homers--Get you some speed /// two speedsters you can plug in at the top and it'll turn around...Adding Turnbow with help your pitching..Just my 2 cents..Larry

Its not the team, its the manager. $73 million team FTL

(probably wrong but quick calculation)

(probably not the right answer but its an easy blame)

Make a Trade

I would scrap Turnbow and get another righthanded power hitter - preferably to replace Casey or Mauer. If you could make a trade it would be better. I'd replace Perez at 2nd with Kent, if available.

Just a bad time to be in Fenway

I lost 3 mil dropping Burnett, Davis and Varitek. I've been doing better since.
