Any help is appreciated! Planning to platoon in CF and go cheap at 3B, but I'm worried about two plus arms in the OF in Petco (there are some 1s still available). I have a Wrigley, Coors, and Jacobs in my division.

Just some thoughts for you Rant-------Loose Patterson--At Petco you can get away alot cheaper with your starters and use the money to get a top flight CF... Look for a starter in the 2 mil range give or take a little that has some BP on his card and he'll do OK...You gotta figure 1/2 of your games are at your park...Look for Javier Vasquez type SP with a * and you can keep your 4 man rotation and upgrade bigtime in center. I would also get a better combo at 3b...something like a Feliz/Alfonzo platoon there would look better if you are wanting to stay cheap at that position...I would definately dump Patterson and his +9 hold rating..I don't doubt that Patterson would most likely do OK at Petco but to Upgrade in CF which you need to do---he is the obvious choice IMO...Good luck to you

Too much $$$ on backups. Including your catcher, if you cut down to .50 backups, you would have about another $2.50 to spend on a 3B. Otherwise it looks pretty good to me. Good backups are a luxury that you don't really need. They are usually hit or miss due to small number of AB's and you have about the same chance as hitting with a .50 guys as with a .91 guy. I'd rather have a decent 3B.
