funny thing about Michaels basically same guy as last year inj wise and def plus still a 2L batting. But last year he was terrific for me at 2.30 m and this year he is a real underachiever at 4.17 m

I've had some pretty decent luck with him so far in 06. Not a bust yet IMHO.

He's a bust if he doesn't see enough LHP.

JMike was a Phillie last year so would you expect nothing less? I mean what other team can go out and win 12 in a row and then lose to teams like Pittsburgh, Washington and Tampa Bay? I recommend not to draft any Philly players as they all choke in the end anyway.

I have to disagree here. J. Mike has done well for me without seeing a ton of lefties.
In looking at his stats for my team he averaged a higher BA and higher SLG vs. RHP than he did against LHPs. Only his OBP was higher versus lefties.

I had the same experience with J-Mike. Went slightly higher against the 2/3 righties I faced in Petco .269 .341 .396 (528 ABs). Ballpark effects were minimal. For the price a slight disappointment -- thought I'd get a better BA out of him -- but considering he's a 2 (3 errors in LF), not a [i:56fbeae1f8]bad[/i:56fbeae1f8] investment.
Of course this team did do a Philly choke. Led the league with 27 games to go, and failed to make the playoffs.
It all went downhill when J-Mike got into a fight with the uniformed police officer between innings. Michaels was quoted as saying:
"I don't know what I'm doing. My lawyer will tell me."
It was just bad for team morale.

The reason he feels like a disappointment is that we see those inflated .304 BA and .399 OBP numbers. The thing is, he only faced 55% righthanders in real life--as opposed to the 65-75% he'll see in strat over a season. Figure in normal stat depreciation in an 80M league, and .270/.340/.375 is about what to expect.
