Hello: I am starting a new season at Kaufman in 2 days, and I am sitting on 1.4 mill in cash with few worthy prospects. Is it good to sit on this much cash, or is it better to spend it before the season starts, even if I don't see anything I really want?

never mind, I dropped OH and picked up Granderson

I don't see 1.4m in cash. I see 70K. Love that pitching but where is the O? I guess you plan on winning 1-0.

Lowell is a waste at 3B. He provides no O at all. If I had to change one thing it would be there. How about a Luis Rodriguez/David Bell platoon. Sacrifice a little D at 3B to help your offense a little.

Are you DHing Granderson? If so then you are wasting money on Garabito. Trade in Garabito and Lowell for a real 3B or a nice platoon.

Actually you might want to keep Garabito as your DH. He should do great in Kaufman. Trade in Granderson for upgrades to your O.

You need more offense. I would dump Smoltz for a cheap non-* SP who can take advantage of your park. I like Cook on the cheap end and others would work. Even a guy like radke might work depending on opposition, as you can skip him up depending on where you are playing. You won't score enough with that team IMO.

thnaks guys! Got the 3rd base platoon and DH platoon going. probably need to upgrade gramderson in lf or upgrade 1b. any suggestions appreciated!

Options for 1B and LF: At 1B Erstad is not bad for Jacobs. If you want a platoon mate see if Chris Gomez is available. You could also get a Gomez/JT Snow platoon instead of Erstad. Snow is virtually identical to Erstad except he doesn't have 600 PA which means he could have up to a 15 game injury instead of only a 3 gamer.

Granderson will not hit well in Jacobs because all those BPHR symbols will be outs at home. You still need some power for when you go on the road so you might consider keeping him. Other options for the money you would have left might be Figgins, Taguchi or Podsednik. All of them would be nice in Jacobs. I like Figgins the best but I bet he is not available.

Oh and Podesnick are available. Am trying to work out a trade for Figgins and Rollins plus pitcher for nefi and Langerhans(was Granderson) plus smoltz.

Gomez gone, so will stay with Erdstat unplatooned.

Also have the option of Matsui in LF, what is your take on him ? Also what is your take on proposed trade?

The trade is bad for him. Smoltz is worth one of those guys. The other guys you are offering are worthless. Erstad must go. He's very bad offensively IMO. How about Overbay? You need a LH hitter vs lhp's. Figgins or Rollins would be great pickups for you.

if trade falls thru , could switch to Podesnick or So and change 1b to Tracy Chad, who seems to have more power than Overbay. Just hate to degrade my fielding. i take it matsui does not impress.
