A spinoff of our Civil War league.........This one will be a little different and have a few twists......

Note: This league will load Aug. 4 and begin Aug 7th...If you are not going to be available to load Friday Aug 4--Please pass on this one..

Rules: 100 mil* / DH/ Weighted waivers with airborne assaults and each side will have a supreme commander who will have added responsibilities.

6 NL only teams---Allies
6 AL only teams---Axis

2 teams for each side in each division. Can use any stadium in your particular league.

Team Name will be actual unit of the time or some such designation: ie; 3d Panzer SS / 101st Airborne

Use an actual General from your side as your managers name.

We will lotto for div placement and to decide who the Supreme Commander for each side is: Adolph Hitler and Dwight Eisenhower (These two guys will play a big role).

Highest lotto # for each side will be the Supreme Commander for all 6 teams for his side....Div placement 1-2, 3-4, 5-6.

And Now we begin:
The "Blitzkrieg" and "Pearl Harbor" has caught the Allies completely unprepared for war...To begin hostilities and until the 81 game mark the Axis forces will have a 100 mil cap....The allies a 60 mil cap....Just like in the real thing the Axis forces should dominate in the early going but as the industrial might of the US and her allies come into play the roles will switch at the 81 game mark........The allies will be given the 100 mil cap and the Axis must drop down to 60 mil for the duration of the war.....Will the Axis powers have a big enough lead to hang on?? On the nite following the 81st games results are posted---at 10 PM EST A frenzy will take place to change your rosters.

Supreme Commanders will have the following responsibilities: Help me keep track of the roster caps and he will also have the ability to send in airborne assaults in certain situations and eliminate players from opponents rosters...Plus it will be his responsiblity to send a replacement player to any team of his that loses a man.

Here are the situations that the Supreme commander can send an airborne assault:

1. If any of his owners has a pitcher who throws a no-hitter--The S-cdr will eliminate from play 1 player from EACH team of the opposition.

2. If any of his owners has a 4 hr game by an individual player--the S-Cdr can eliminate only 1 player from the 6 team opponent.

3. If any of his owners score 20 or more runs in a game he may eliminate only 1 player from any opp team.

Note: The no-hitter gets one from Each team--the other 2 are for only one player of choice.

Once a team has a player killed by airborne assault that player is eliminated from play and may not be picked up by anyone else.

It will also be the supreme commanders decision as to which player to send you as a replacement............He will make the decision NOT the losing owner......If it happens to be the S-cdr that looses a man the highest winning Pct team for his side at that point will send the S-cdr his replacement....

Any player that makes 4 errors in one game will be shot for aiding and abeting the enemy and must be dropped immeadiately and is eliminted for the duration from all rosters.

The Axis powers will definately have an advantage at first but when the beaches of Normandy and Okinawa are hit can the Axis hang on??? Come and find out.....First come first serve on the sides you choose.

Axis:
1. Pelzer
2. Ehlekev
3.
4.
5.
6.

Allies:
1. LMBombers
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.

two things

1. wont the allies have a huge advantage come playoff time

2. not sure I like using that name as supreme commander for axis how about Rommel or another military leader instead after all you are not using fdr

Yep---they will have an advantage at playoff time.........Then again the allies had the axis down and out so bad in the end this should replicate it perfectly.........I still give the Axis a legitimate shot though....I like a challenge thats why I signed up for the axis...Your moves will have to be perfect at the salary cap switch.....As far as naming supreme cdr...Tojo-FDR-Mussolini-Hitler-Rommell--any will work as long as we all know who he is.

Sounds interesting but WAY TOO involved for me to keep up with on a regular basis.
