Eyre, Eyre Cap'n!

I have to admit to being very in-experienced at the use of R1's.

However, the shortage of quality lefty RP's keeps me gazing at Scott Eyre. $4.64 mil is a lot of Dablooms to spend however, and I'm wonderring how many innings I might be able to coax out of him?

My thinking would be to team him in a bullpen consisting of:

R1/C6 closer;
Eyre;
R2 reliever ($2.00-$3.00 mil range);
R2 mop-up guy (sub $1 mil).

Settings would be:

a) R1/C6 @ "slow hook", "closer both ways", "do not enter before 8th";

b) Eyre @ "slow hook", "set-up both ways", "do not enter before 6th" (or 7th?)

Any ideas or suggestions on this would be appreciated.

After 123 games I've gotten 97 innings, his stats are a bit sucky (ERA over 5.0) but it's a themed league. I think he's cool to go 2 innings.

The bully you mentioned looks OK (W/O knowing park or rotation) perhaps I'd consider a spec. most likely a hard xR cheapie to spot around.

I have had good runs with R1s, never one of my main concerns unless the R1 has BPHRs on higher prob slots.

For got to mention the other time I used Eyre:

Coors 88 ip 1.30 Whip. 2.34 ERA Opp Avg .222

Fultz was main setup and Turnbow closer in that team.

wasn't too hot on him in my only time using him:

100 mil leauge, but he had more than enough help in the pen with Heilman, Street, Seanez + some cheapies.
