Helling: Does he suck?

I'm worried that the +8 is a killer. Everyone is in scoring position, all the time.
He will have some cheap support after Isringhausen as closer, Ayala, Villone, Vogelsong, with Sosa and Downs potentially available when not used as spot starters.

He had a great year for me in SBC (176 IP, 2.91 ERA, 1.17 WHIP). Thru 63 games in Comerica, he hasn't been as good (1.14 WHIP, but 3.81 ERA). I'd take him again, though.

He's rocked for me on two or three teams. He was just the setup man on my first championship team.

Awesome - thanks.
I almost went with a Valverde/Isrinhausen combo, but it seems HAL will use guys with closer ratings more judisciously (Valverde = R2/C5). The straight R3 has to be good for games when the starter isn't performing, and is lifted before the end of 6.
I'm feeling good about this team. I think I'm well matched in the division. We shall see though...so far I have sucked with the 2005 cards (1 playoff appearance in about 5 completed seasons - not good).
There are something like 4 Coors teams in this stupid league, so Hellings 0 BPHRs should help a ton.

He was the Cy Young winner on this Fenway team.... think you just have to make sure he gets enough innings!

Nice team there. Very nice.
249 innings! This supports my theory that Hal is a little dumber in 2006, in regard to proper use of cheapies. He/she prefers to go with one guy who can get both sides out, who is an R3 (Heilman etc...).
