League starts tonite---I just dropped L. Castillo in favor of a platoon of Damion Easley (vsLH) and Jorge Cantu (vsRH) with Easley as a def repl for Cantu with the lead....It allowed me a couple of extra bucks to shore up my Bullpen by also adding Eddie Guadado So basically it is a Easley-Cantu- and Guardado for Luis Castillo..But I am having some second thoughts..I love Cantu's stick vs RH and he has always done well for me, but playing 2nd  I have David Ortiz as my DH so that is out of the question...I am at the Jake and Have speedsters Podsednik and Pierre at the top followed by Polonco-Ortiz-Mora-Ibanez-Guillen- and Pudge...Rotation of Santana-R. Johnson-Webb-Conteres....Bullpen...Closer-Mariano Riveria..Set Up-Politte and Guadado..extra pitchers..Lance Carter-S Munter-K Rueter...
Gonna have Polonco play SS with Mora at 3b...Boone as a def repl for Mora...I alos have Renteria for ss depth.
So, should I go with the switch or get Castillo back...Other parks in my div...Coors-Rogers ctr. and Shea.

I love that "1" @ 2B! I have tried to draft Castillo several times and finally got him on a team. He is hitting close to .300 and playing great "D". I agree, I love the pop from Cantu but have never tried him. Just dropped "Everyday Eddie" in a league. He was getting shelled and I had to free up a little cash. Not sure about Easley. I know he crushes LH.

Get Castillo back and Rivera to set up and closer both ways, don't use before the eighth inning.

Larry, I think you did the right thing for sure. I don't like Cantu in a pitcher's park like Jacobs Field. When you have Polonco at SS (a 3) you really need Castillo to play 2B for you (or maybe Hudson?).
Good Luck :D

Thanks Randy---I sure like Cantu but just couldn't make it work...I am surprised he is on the FA list...Bet he don't last long though.

Don't feel bad about Cantu. I used him at 3b in Minute Maid and he was horrible in the field and at the plate. I had to cut him and I rarely cut anyone for poor performance.

I love Castillo! Get him back.
I just won a championship w/him at 2nd, he crushes lefties and is more solid than you think vs. R. I also found that he works well in different places in the lineup vs R depending on the park, pitcher,etc..but vs L...I always batted him 3rd. He was awesome...over 400avg, and over 500slug!
A 1 at 2B like him gives you peace at mind.

Wow! That is kind of surprising at MM....I would have thought he would be great there....I have had really good seasons out of him at Kaufman and Petco believe it or not.....I'll tell you who does well with him is Doc Tax1.....He uses him alot and he always does great...I even traded Cantu to him in one league and it came back to bite me. :D
