Has anyone seen a line like this before?

He pitched a complete game throwing 241 pitches giving up 9 hits for 2 runs.

The other team threw 293 pitches.

This is wild to see.

I thought starters were linited to 11 innings max. This is strange.

Look at this game same series. 15 innings no runs either side till 15th. 237 & 228 pitches thrown. This is why you play Strat.

So you would think that is a record of some kind. It is. But you have to share it with Johan!!

17 innings, 241 pitches

Hal does have a heart. He won't let anyone throw over 241 pitches. You've got to post this game in the "Official records posting thread - 2005 game" thread at the top of this forum. To eerie.

LOL!! The phone wasn't working, I guess!!<

Terry, all his relievers pitch in game 76 and 77. So nobody in the bullpen was "fresh". (This is an explication, not a justification).

Although those stats are nuts...........The biggest thing that drives me nuts is the ability to use a stud reliever in BOTH roles SU and Closer and accumilate monster numbers for a relief pitcher....I mean come on..Having a reliever win 20 games, save 10 or 20 and throw 250+ innings...That is crap....THAT- is the most unrealalistic thing about the game to me anyway......IMO, it should be an option to EITHER set up or Close but NOT both....That would force owners to be realistic in building their bullpens........Instead of getting one stud to throw the majority of your innings and 50 cent guys to pick up the slop...To get more money for your offense

Oh Well.........The name of the game is to win credits and the vets have figured out this is the way to beat the computer so it'll continue......Guess you just have to do it too, in order to stay competitive :D

Well yes and no.
Critical Ivy League playoff game many years ago featured the two best pitchers in the ivy league, both considered ML material, one a lefty with a deadly screwball, the other a righty with nasty stuff.
Game was tied after 9, both pitchers stayed in.
I think the game went to the 12th, Cornell lost 1-0.

The interesting thing about that game.
The big righty was Ron Darling, later to go to the Mets.
The lefty was a kid named Steve Hamrick, who got hurt right after that and never returned to form.

Pelzer,

I agree 100% This should be changed, but we need to lobby Bernie when it gets close to the 07 game. I have ranted in previous posts about this exact issue. Realism should always be sought after in this game if it is not to complicated and doesn't hurt the game. It would be easy to have a setting or tweak the game engine any number of ways to make it not possible for a guy who goes 60-70 innings in real life to go 250 innings in this game. The SOM tournaments have limits on relievers- even the Tour has a 200 limit. Lets keep it in mind for a possible change in 07.
