The Futility continues......UPDATE......Championship

Ok,

I am getting really pissed off at my teams performance in the "Big game"

I have owned 12 Teams in '06 (11 are finished and 1 will be on Fri)

So far of the 11 finished seasons 7 have made Playoffs
I still have an outside shot for my 8th out of 12 (75% have made Playoffs)

Out of my 7 Playoff teams, 6 have lost in the Semi's(1 team is 2-2 in Semi's) so it could be 7 for 7 as of tomorrow.

What does this mean......it means I haven't won a single credit, sure I am currently 73rd in Rankings, and I am the only team over 50th place to have 7 playoff appearances, There are only 23 teams that have more than 7. But that doesn't mean squat to me. I want a ring, and I want some darn credits.

Am I being whiney....or Am I the Buffalo Bills of Strato.
Go to the dance, and then never get out there and Dance.

Venting,
Bodie

Bodie, it's time to replace Jim Kelly with Joe Montana. It's time to replace Karl Malone with Michael Jordan.
The percentages will catch up with you as long as you keep making the playoffs. I myself find my wild card teams make the world series more often than my division winners. Once you get to the playoffs, anything can happen. So far, the strato gods are testing you!!

I too have been frustrated in the playoffs. In previous years I made the playoffs less and won more, making 43 playoffs from 2001-2005 and winning 18 titles, which is a great %. This year I have cracked the top ten in manager rankings for the first time ever and all sixteen of my completed teams have fininshed 2nd or better with only one sub-.500(78-84) finish. Twelve of my teams have made the playoffs, but I have only one title to show for it, losing in three advanced league finals. Some of it I attribute to my luck catching up with me. Hal's bad moves in earlier years that helped me out are coming back to haunt me. Also, I play in tougher leagues more often now and maybe my teams need a minor overhaul to compete with the tougher competition. When someone would post their bad playoff luck in the past, I was usually on the other end, having more than my share of success. Now I can truly comiserate with them.

Yeah Visick, that is what put me over the edge.

It is killing me. My first team ever (last year) made the finals and lost, but at least I got the credit so it didnt' feel so bad, but c'mon this is ridiculas.

We have a winner,

I finally have made the finals after coming back from 0-2 to win final three games. Pedro pitches a 5 hitter and Tony Clark goes deep to win 1-0.

Whooo hooooo, Got me a credit.......

Half way there

2-0 after 1st 2 games at Home.

Dontrelle Willis and Suppan went for me in games 1 and 2.
Pedro still needed rest, but works out ok for me.

I figured Suppan had better chance to win at Angels Stadium vs. Coors

Worked out good.

Game 3 (at Coors) I have Pedro vs. a tough CC. Sabathia
and in a twist, I have
Game 4 (at Coors) R. Dempster(who only had 39 IP all year) going up against D. Haren.
Game 5 (at Coors) pitts B. Colon against M. Mulder (I chased Mulder after 1 inning in game 1)

Game 6 (Angels stadium) Willis against Josh Towers
Game 7 (Angels Stadium) Pedro against CC. Sabathia.

I really needed to win games 1 and 2 to get my Match ups to work.

Of course that assumes that I don't get swept at Coors, or I really will have to depend on Willis and Pedro to complete the sweep at home.

Make sure you check your lineups for injuries and matchup problems.

Go get 'em Bodie!

I had this trouble in 05'. I had little Problem making the playoffs but once there, I seemd to get swept out of the first round only made it to the finals twice, winning it once.
