2 1 W.Mays 1 Home Run 1-H b-H

ATGlll game last night. What's with fan interference

Now I have seen it all, including appealing a play for leaving 2 early in an 2006 game.

Cool

The fan reached out onto the field of play denying the fielder the chance to catch the foul pop. If in the umps judgement the fielder would have caught the foul pop he would rule fan interference, batter out.

If, however, the fielder goes into the stands and the fan interferes, there's no interference. Remember Steve Bartman?

This is really great...until you're the guy on the losing end of the "unique" play. It really sucks to lose a playoff game because of a balk call in the bottom of the 9th, or to miss the playoffs because of an "appeal" play that says the baserunner left too early on a fly ball. :x
