Save some more money and drop Hawpe. Abreu can never become injured.

first, even though it's past the "deadline" you can still make changes before the first game is played with NO penalties...

You have 2 guys who play CF only. You most expensive backup is for a position that will miss at most 3 games at a time (Cabrera). The position which is the biggest def liability currently, had a really cheap backup, even though it's one of the few position where the guy can and will go down for 15 games at a time (Loretta).

Why not get C Burke (LF, CF and 2b) and R Sanchez (2 range 2b, can be used a Def replacement for Loretta to keep him healthier, can also play 3b) and keep Izturis. You could then upgrade you backup catcher (rmember, only carry 2 cathcers, no more. If 1 in injured the other will never get injured, ever) to someone better. Since Laird is an e16 plus a T-20 rating (if he tried to throw out a runner, high chance of it going into CF) he isn't the best backup. if you don't care about that stuff, get Fick whose bat is better, or Alomar. If you care about that maybe get Melhuse or Philips.
