Injury replacement WTF HAL???

I had my 3rd baseman Morgan Ensberg go down for 3 games. I have 2 choices to replace him Gomez 4e12 or Blum 2e28. What Hal decides to do boggles my mind. He takes my stellar defensive 2nd baseman Giles 2e14 and moves him to 3rd where his rating is 4e37 and puts Gomez at 2nd where he is a 4e12. He weakens me at 2 positions for no apparent reason. Why would he not just leave Giles at 2nd and play Gomez at 3rd??? It didn't end up costing me as I still took 2 of 3, but it could have. What could have been his motivation for this?

It's HAL being HAL. I cannot think of a rationale. It's happened to me. I feel your pain.

On a side note I currently have Ensberg on 3 different teams and on all 3 he got injured tonight.

Spoky stuff...

In my only team with Ensberg, this is what happened in the second game:

[quote:140f6f073a]INJURY: Morgan Ensberg INJURED (for 3 more games) in 1st inning[/quote:140f6f073a]

In my case though, HAL did do OK with the defensive subs

My feeling is HAL looks at the players offense 1st.

It's almost as though we need to have a space in the manager strategy section, for defensive replacements for ALL positions.

of all the nonsensical things hal does this is the one that annoys me the most. ok bring in the absolute wrong def replacement every time I can deal with that but dont start moving my lineup all around
he loves playing m izturis in cf any injury I get he will move everyone around just to get him in cf

Even if HAL wanted the best offensive player in there (GOMEZ) he still could have played him at 3rd and not moved GILES. THis is one thing that should be addressed for 2007. I agree we need to have input into who the defensive replacements are.

Defensive backup assignments by position is one of the things Bernie is looking at for 2007. It's already there in the SOM computer game; bernie just needs to figure out how to code it into the TSN version.

It's already been implemented in the ATGIII game and Benie implied that it would be a matter of days before it is implemented in 2006.

It's a huge upgrade I agree.
