Any obvious changes?

I just started my first season of strat o matic and am already hooked. I started the first few days in first and want to know if any obvious changes are just standing out.

I am already considering dropping Belliard and Cisco and looking for some sort of replacement. What I really want is an honest assesment of my team from an unbiased source. I feel like I have fielded a competitive team, but don't know for sure. Thanks for the help when it comes.

Your link doesn't work (in the sense that it takes me to my team -as opposed to yours)

Go to the stats page, right click on your team, click on copy shortcut and paste the link here. At the end of the url you'll see an id #

Welcome to SOM-OL and good luck

A couple of tips.

First, you should be asking for feedback before the season starts. Now if you drop you'll lose 20% of the players salary. Too many drops and you won't be fielding a competitive team.

Two, Starting pitchers with an * can pitch on 3 days rest. You pay a premium for this. You have a 5 man rotation with 4 *SP so you're wasting money. With 4 *SP you get a .50 guy who never pitches.

SOM is all about how you use your salary.

Your bullpen is very weak. I would drop Duke for a .50 SP. and pick up a good RP. Heilman is a FA and would help quite a bit. Put him as set up and closer, closer normal, do not come in before 7th.

For a neutral ballpark I'd want to have another lefty in the lineup but I'd wait and see how things play out before doing anything. Drop Kent or belliard and get Casey maybe.

Good luck.

Those concerns with my bullpen are duly noted. I decided that I would seriously address it by not addressing it. It might come back to haunt me. i dropped Zach Duke and my worst closer. I also dropped belliard and shifted kent back to second. With these moves I was able to snag andy pettite as my number 2 and my number 3 is the best pitcher numbers wise in my league right now. So far it appears to have paid off. If down the stretch I end up one or two games out of the playoffs, I will know it was due to my bullpen. Thanks for the help.
