Can someone explain to me the difference between "weighted" waivers and 5/10/20 rule of dropping players? I click on both and they go to the same definition with nothing said about 5/10/20. Thanks

waivers and the 5/10/20 rule are 2 seperate things.

waivers is what happens after the draft runs. A day later, there is another mini draft of wiaver picks before all players are on a free for all basis. The waiver draft order is determined by the No of picks you missed (standard waivers) or the weighing of all the picks you missed (weighted waivers) where losing a no 1 pick weighs much more than losing a 10th pick.

5/10/20 rule refers to an option for [u:0265997f60]after the season has started[/u:0265997f60]. There is a drop penalty when dropping a player you have and picking up a FA. The standard is 20%, then there are 2 other options, 10% and 5/10/20. 5/10/20 is 5% penalty in the firt 40 games, 10% hte next 40, and 20% for the entire 2nd half.

hope that helps.
