Getting wrong player in draft

Our 70s league draft ran last night and a team that wanted a $750,000 backup outfielder didn't get him as he went to another team.

According to the rules he should have received a player at the same postion with the same or lower salary.

Instead he got a player with a cost of about $600,000 more than the original player he tried to draft.

Not really a complaint, but this is a queston on how it happened and has anyone seen it before.

Thanks

I've seen it happen a few times. If there are no more .75 players at that position then the program chooses the next lowest priced player, even if it puts cash available into the negative.

This has happened several times in the 70s set. There aren't enough .75 outfielders to go around. One team I was facing was several million dollars over the 80 mil cap because of it.
