I'm trying a Varitek/Lieberthal platoon at catcher. I'm thinking they could put up decent #'s. Even when one of the gets hurt for 15 games. It's nice knowing even though they have horrible injury ratings the other can't get hurt. I'll let you know how things turned out in a couple of months.

Trying the same thing with Varitek/Torrealba (Lieberthal got taken). Lets compare notes.

I've been pondering a Varitek/Torrealba platoon on each of my teams, but last 2 have ended with more $ than I knew what to do with, so I chose Pierzynski instead of Torrealba in both. I do think, however, that the Varitek/Torrealba platoon could be one on the 07 set's best position value. Good luck with both the platoons.

If you take two catchers with high injury ratings and one of the two gets hurt.... than the other catcher (even though they also have a high injury rating) can not be hurt in the same time period?

If you search around in the forums, this has been discussed often, but the doubters revisit the topic from time to time. This most recent thread hits the high points:

Lieberthal looks good, but Varitek looks like a bum to me.

I'm using a lieberthal/torrealba pairing. Lieb got hurt early but torr is hitting .364 in the early going.
