I'm a newbie and can't get an answer to my question until Monday which is too late. Can some kind soul tell me exactly when the "season begin(s)" and you only get 89% of a player's value? We are finished with the draft and have not started the regular season, i.e. first game Monday. If I drop an expensive player will I be able to get full value or 89% after the draft and before the first game?

its free until 10pm of that monday it starts. so you drop a $5M guy, you get $5M. then anytime after 10pm monday its 80%. so you drop a $5M guy you get $4M.

Feel free to make wholesale changes to your roster once waivers have run. Plan out four or five moves and execute them in quick sequence so another manager's activity on the site doesn't disrupt your plans. But once the season starts, be prepared to basically hold tight. Plan well. Make sure your reserves, while basically being a bunch of .50 guys (or they should be), can among them cover any position well enough in the event of injury to one of your starting hitters.

actually you can make changes until [b:e08b47d80e]the first game runs[/b:e08b47d80e]. After that there is an 20% hit (you get 80% back).

which on that first night seems to be pretty early in the run cycle-- don't cut it too close!
