Actually, that team might be a winner. I don't like what looks to be 4's in both RF & LF, but then again, what do I know?

I'm not comfortable with your pitching staff - I think they'll give up too many hits, leading to too many runs that don't come on homers. Then again, with that offense you've built, I don't see much reason to concern yourself with how much the opposition scores.

I see five guys in your starting lineup that could put 50 out of the yard for you in one season, and your catchers and leftfielders (I believe Salmon and Guiel to be platooning in left) could each put out another 35. YIKES.

Good job so far, and... CRAP, I just realized I'm in that league! I would highly recommend that you drop Pujols and Ortiz and pick up J.T. Snow and Doug Mientkiewicz. Coco Crisp should start over Jones in center, and you really need to deal Jermaine Dye to the Kaleidoscope in the Western Division...

Another other questions?

Thanks BC & JD ... I know about the 4's in the outfield corners ... but only one 4 vs righties and I have late inning replacements ... I know the SP isn't great ... but seems to be the best choices for the money available ... and JD thanks for the rest of your suggestions ... I'm sure I'll follow them to the letter ...

Westbrook has done OK for me in similar, Garland has been batting practice. I think your offense is good, but not sure if it's good enough if Cook & Glavine are more like Garland than like Westbrook. One thing is you really don't have top of the order hitters for Ortiz & Pujols. Castillo can be really bad overall or OK vs rhp's, and my experience is in Fenway and Coors, where he should be good. By no means a sure thing at the top, and more likely not to be a sure thing IMO. I think you would be better served with a lead off hitter.

I've made a few changes ... any other suggestions ... I'd like to get some more OBP ... but where ... and at what trade off ... I'd like to see if I can get the best releif set up possible ... again at what expense/trade off ... Any other suggestions or feedback from anyone?

I'd look for a lf who'll get on base, or maybe a different 3b. You've got too many 5-6 type hitters. Who's hitting second?

For what it's worth, I think you made a mistake, turning down my offer of Reyes for Dye. I have since traded him for Vlad, so I'm speaking impartially. You answered my trade proposal by comparing Dye's OBP to Reyes' by saying you didn't want to take the OBP hit. I believe this is not correct. You are not taking into account the fact that Reyes being held on increases the chances of your second batter getting a hit. You are also not factoring in the fact that Dye may miss a good amount of games compared to Reyes, and Dye's replacement is unlikely to put up the same numbers. Lastly, you would get an OBP upgrade when you replace Uribe with a new RF. Afetr all these factors are considered, I think you would probably gain in the OPB category. Aside from this, as myself and someone else pointed out, you really could use a top of the order hitter and Reyes is pretty good IMO in a hitting park, where his power is a factor. I am getting the following results in Coors:
255 47 85 19 5 5 32 12 37 14 5 0 .333 .361 .506
I would take that almost every time from my leadoff guy.

d-jerry...wow, now THAT'S a trade offer! two of the most productive /coveted cards in the set. in addition to everything you mentioned, most notably dye's suseptability to the CHANCE of major injury...no comparison to defense, where dye's a liability, reyes a more than adequate ss. reyes speed...and the position he plays, plus our new friend's need for THAT type of hitter. but it it hard to get or part with dye. personally id rather have him than vlad, but maybe you needed more strength vs. lhp, or one less 15-game injury risk.
