Need recommendations for a 1B switch

Trade offers are not panning out so I need to drop Lance Berkman and add some right handed power to this team in Fenway Park.

I apologize for the crudity of this copy, but here are the available 1B. Please let me know who you suggest for Fenway that will crush the ball for me.

51 games in, you are seeing OVER 2X as many RH's to LH's and you wanna release your HR leader?

Ummm...bad move.

I'd say Jenks is hurting you more than Berkman is.

What are your lineups?

That is exactly the opposite of what I have been told in the past. I was told that Beltran and Berkman were all wrong for Fenway and that I need to get rid of one for a right handed masher. I guess I don't know who to listen to any more.

Sorry, almost forgot the lineups.

Brian Roberts
Jimmy Rollins
Vlad Guerrero
Beltran
Chone Figgins
Lance Berkman
The rest depend on the pitcher. Combination of Aubrey Huff, Mike Matheny/Chris Iannetta, and whoever I throw in as DH.

looks like you have 6 switch hitters on your team and you want to drop Berkman?

You have $$$ in your pocket and 4 CF's besides Beltran.

Keep Berkman and bat him where he should drive in runs. If you really want RH power -> Wes Helms from the list.

But it is a mistake.

Why were people telling me I had too many lefties and switch hitters and that I should dump one and go for right handed power? I'm so confused now.

you certainly do have too many... but make Beltran/Berkman work for you if you aren't seeing LHP!!!

Your bullpen has too many R1s. But you should outscore alot more opponents than you are.
You must have slow hook setting for King Felix. He is getting hit too hard.

vs. RHP
1. Lofton DH
2. Beltran CF
3. Vlad RF
4. Berkman 1B
5. Huff 3B
6. Rollins SS
7. Roberts 2B
8. Ianetta C
9. Figgins LF

I will try that lineup tonight.

I just made some pitching changes to get some longer lasting relief pitchers. I also changed closers and dumped a non-* starter for Greg Maddux, so I now have a four man * rotation.

To try to unconfuse you: The dimensions of your park favors RH power over LH power by 100%(6-3), although it is by no means a power hitting haven. If you are going to have some power on your team, most should be RH, as 85%(20-3) of the #HR's hit by someone batting LH in at least 81 of your games will become outs. If you were to have some lefthanded power, they should have natural HR's that are not dependent on the ballpark dimensions. Both Beltran and Berkman fall into this "natural" HR hitter category, but the reality is they will both be punished by the dimensions of your home park to some extent. Having one of them would be OK, having both is too many in most peoples view IMO. Where your team is underway, cutting either of them may be more harmful than helpful with the 20% penalty. If it was before the season, I think almost anyone would tell you to trade one of them. There are no rules written in stone in SOMO, but when I first started I was reading a post by a top player, who when describing why he didn't pick a guy for his team, said he never liked to have his best player not be getting the benefit of his home park. Again, I'm sure some have succeeded in other ways, but this is a good rule to follow when you are startring out IMO. Your team has it's top TWO players not getting the benfit of the dimensions of your home park.

Ok, so to return to my original question, if trades are not an option which guy on that list do I cut Berkman for?
