Announcing the OFFICIAL
Strat-O-Matic Baseball 2007 Players' Championship![/size:eda7fa4666]

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/2007/tournament/

Welcome to this year's edition of the most intense Strat-O-Matic Online competition - a 7-event, non-elimination tournament that spans from now until the end of the year! Check out the official Tournament Central page at the link above, where all year we'll be keeping track of every single qualifying league in every Event, archiving every Manager's Tournament record, and automatically computing Manager Standings.

[b:eda7fa4666]As an added bonus this year[/b:eda7fa4666], every champion of every qualifying league in every event will be awarded [b:eda7fa4666]75 points[/b:eda7fa4666] towards their Manager Rating, instead of the usual 50 for "Advanced" leagues. Also, the Overall Tour Champion will be awarded [b:eda7fa4666]150 points[/b:eda7fa4666] instead of the usual 50 for winning the Champion's League. This even applies to non-Tour teams that are acting as "fillers".

Like last year, [b:eda7fa4666]teepack[/b:eda7fa4666] is your Tournament Commissioner and will answer your questions and make sure you have a great ride.

[b:eda7fa4666]Prizes![/b:eda7fa4666]
This year's overall Winner will receive ALL of the following (check the Tourney Central page for pretty pictures):
- The 2007 Players' Championship Trophy*
- The 2007 season Strat-O-Matic Computer Game [b:eda7fa4666]or[/b:eda7fa4666] Board Game/Card Set (i.e. next year's!)
- a 1-year subscription to The Sporting News weekly magazine

The runner-up will also receive the 1-year subscription!

* - the Winner has the option to receive 4 team credits in lieu of the Championship Trophy.

The first leagues start play in early May, so sign up today!

I'm very interested in signing up for the tour, only one thing is holding me back, which is the live draft.

1. How is it done
2. What is the time commitment a guy is looking at to do it.
3. What if a guy can't get off work the day of the draft, is there any contingency.
4. would you still be able to compete in the other 5 events other than th 2 live drafts and still have a shot at the championship?

Rosco- I am no official mouth piece for the Tour but this is what I suspect

1. How is it done-

The draft will be staged at [b:0dd0dd7fc0]somdraft.com[/b:0dd0dd7fc0]

2. What is the time commitment a guy is looking at to do it.

Most live drafts have a "draft clock" time allotted per pick per team. I'm not sure what the clock will be but I suspect 2 hours or so per pick. I'm not sure how many live rounds we draft but a full 24 round 12 team draft can take a week(or more).

3. What if a guy can't get off work the day of the draft, is there any contingency.
The sight has a great proxy feature that allows you to set up picks in various manners for several rounds. This means you don't have to follow the draft pick by pick round by round while chained to your screen.

All in all, if you use the draft site to it's capabilities then is is not much of a hassle.
