How's my Comerica Park team?

Not happy with Giles' arm in RF but pretty satisfied with the team on the whole. Bonds of course, is the DH. Should this team score some runs and compete?
I will use Maroth in relief except when playing in Shea, etc. where I will start him.

Nice job on the hitters. Slightly more open to left handed power, which you have. Nice job minimizing expenses on the backup players. Keep an eye on your pitching as you have chosen the five man rotation and went with inexpensive options. Clearly you are relying more on your hitting to win. I'd be happy with this team, but if you can explore some pitching options before the season starts I'd do it.

Thank you for your help palacekillers.
Hey you know what's funny? I actually didn't choose the five man rotation. I wanted to go four and I ended up with five from the draft. I'll look into some pitching options though. I was hoping to get Santana in the draft and Robertson on waivers but didn't get either.

Having a hard time deciding who's better at 3B in Comerica. Glaus or Inge?

Never mind. I dropped Glaus for Crede. Lost 8 homeruns but gained in defence. Besides, not a lot of lefty pitchers in my division.

Pick up Freddy Sanchez, you won't regret it.

Man, that card is insane! I'll have to see if anyone has him or how I can come up with the money.

I like your hitting also. I would downgrade at 2B for a cheaper defensive option(Polanco maybe, as you already have a cheap "2" rated backup-also, you don't need two of them) and upgrade at 3b. Crede is a power park guy, as is Glaus. There are many good 3b and usually one is left in an autoleague. Your 2B looks like he's just batting eighth or ninth anyway. I would also get a cheap platoon for Giles(Denorfrio type). Also, you can get cheap backups for Bonds-I like the oft injured LH Angels 3B from the left side. No need to get caught without a good sub-DH. I believe your hitting would be top notch with those changes.

Thanks for the tips. I think I'm going to stick with Crede if only for his defence because my pitching isn't the greatest. Does 3B need good defence if pitching isn't great?
Polanco had the same defensive rating as Iguchi with less offense so I took Polanco. This allowed me to get Cruz to platoon in RF and Sheffield as a backup DH.

Pretty nice team overall but I think you have a little bit of wasted money. Sheffield is a great DH against LHP and should not be used as a backup. Either get rid of him or Bonds. If you get rid of Bonds, find a cheaper LH hitter who crushes right handed pitching. If you get rid of Sheffield, use that money to upgrade your bullpen. Personally, I would platoon in DH and get rid of Bonds. That will probably free up at least 2 million that could be used to create a dominant bullpen.
