I know this won't last, but the dude is on fire! He's my platoon DH. 18 games into the season, and I've only faced two lefties, so he's started 16 games. He has at least one hit in every game and is batting .471! Last night, he was 2-for-3, 3-for-5 and then 2-for-5! Needless to say he is leading the league in batting.

And there you go. Mike Freaking Lamb is hitting the lights out. Meanwhile, I go Vlad, Beltran, Berkman and I'm in dead last place in my league, and not by a thin margin either.

Everybody knows about Vlad, Beltran, Ortiz, Manny, etc. The successful managers know how to use the no names or players with a lower salary and get more bang for their buck. Remember you don't have to have a MLB all-star who played in 160 games to win. Sometimes those players that only had 125 ABs can produce just as well or even better.

I'm glad to hear of LAMB's hitting. I just picked him up as my 1st baseman for a seaon that starts tomorrow. Looks like a good hitter, not very good D though. I'll platoon him with Conine and see how it goes.

He's overachieving of course, but Lamb has a very nice card -- top 25 in hits vs righties.
