is it just me, or does he not perform up to his card????
even in platoon vs rhp he struggles to get to .300 OBP.

This is bad news. I have him on 1 team 3 games in, batting .240 and an OBP of .299. I was hoping it was just bad luck as I just drafted him on another team. I thought he looked like a good #2 hitter.

Roberts doing fine for me. First 30 games hitting .336 with a .380 obp and eight steals and scored 19 runs. Don't expect it to hold up but would be nice. Have him at the bottom of my order with Abreu leading off and Pierre batting second. He's been a great spark plug at the bottom of the order. I'm in Great American. Of course we've seen this before. I've got Ortiz and Soriano hitting just above the Mendoza but it's still too early.

So far he's done well for me:
Team 1 (complete)
.309/ .360/ .435 with 28 SB. (one of only two players on my team to hit over .285)
Team 2 (93 games in)
.315/ .357/ .427 with 12 SB
Works great in the lead off vs. righties, not nearly as hot vs. lefties. (although his OBP in my second league is my second highest against lefties so he gets to leadoff there as well - my team doesn't do so well against lefties in that league.)
Decent enough D.
I like him.

he's pathetic vs lefties, hes a #9 hitter vs righties. Anything more you will be disappointed more often than happy. He doesn't have even 40 obp chances on either side, not a player I want at the top of my lineup

Yeah I agree that he has to be low in the batting order against both righties and lefties. You're paying for his defense but I like carroll much more for 1 million more. Carroll is a legitimate leadoff hitter with great defense.

Not my 1st choice at 2B but I've had him a couple of times.
Great for 9 hitter with OB. Wouldn't use him at the top of the line up.
