Worst start to the Season???

Worst start to the Season???

Postby BRADSANDBOTHE » Mon May 14, 2007 1:03 pm

I just finished off my first week in a Tour League with an incredible record of 3-18

Was wondering if anyone else has had this start, and if so.....what was the record at the end of your season.

This is in the 2007 game, I have had 7-14 starts and I think a 6-15 start, but never have I been 15 games under .500 after the first week.  :x

Started off 0-9 and then somehow managed to squirrell away 3 wins in the next 12 games....whoo hoo.

Bodie, I started my Tour league 1-8 (all on the road) and have made it to 8-13.

That is encouraging.

Is there anything different about the Tour that I should know other than the fact that there are a lot of good players playing???

I mean I know the competition is gonna be bettter and I won't be able to build the perfect team, but 3-18 good golly

Kinda slaps you in the face huh? You feel fairly confident that you have put together a good team and then WHAMMO...

If it makes ya feel any better, with the 2005 cards I started the league 6-15.

I went on the make it to the finals.

Of course I lost, but...

I have had teams that were way out in front halfway only to lose out in the end after a couple of bad stretches, but never 3-18.

I did have a team that was 18-30 that ended up 7 games over .500 and only missed out on WC by one game.

I guess my luck has to turn at some point, but after 4 sweeps and 3 (1-2) series, I am starting to think I may have drafted poorly or something.

I guess I will wait and see if the rolls start falling my way before trying anything drastic, but I am already 11 games back in the standings, if it gets too much worse, I will be out of it before I can get started.

Bodie, isn't your nickname the Mid-Way Man. You win maybe 81 games or have a solid team that makes it to the midpoint of the season before collapsing.

Puckin, I'm in the same league as you and doing almost as poorly - I'm 4-17.

My offense is atrocious (I have Cameron, Crede and Giambi as my big sluggers, with Cano and Sheff (vs lefties) to do really good against their opposite handed pitchers) and my pitching is underperforming. My bullpen is the only positive, and it looks to remain that way. But when you can never establish a lead in the first place they become pretty useless.
