Would You Be Caught Dead With This Team ??

ok maybe its not that bad but I thought maybe a catchy heading might get this post some attention. Was wondering if this team has any chance and what adjustments could be made. Team is in MM and my division foes are Coors/ATT/Citizins. Its not my tour team , just a plain jane auto draft . Beckett is going and I am pretty sure Pierre is also although the cf pool is a bit thin. Also is Escobar worth his price tag with the big injury roll ??? Thanks to anyone willing to pick this thing apart !!!

Without looking past your first player yet - LOSE Jennings - he's gotten lit up every time I've been stuck with him.

Didn't made it past 9 or 10 starts for me both times.

Hard to argue with most of your bats.

Be carfeul with Escobar - the 6 injury can mean he'll spend a lot of time on the bench.

Pierre, doesn't have a great arm, but he'll get to the ball in CF. Plus bat him 9th both ways and he should be good for some run scoring. Especially if you're leading off with Mauer.

Haven't used Drew, but I'm always wary af a 3 at ss.

Personally the whole team is a little light on pitching for me, but I like Otsuka, Heilman, and Harang.

I like the base a lot. Pitching could get rocked. I have Batista close to 20 wins in US Cell and he also went 0-6 for a Coors team(before being cut) on a pace for 100 wins. I would lose Escobar and the SS. Why bother with Escobay when you already have Mauer, Pujols, Cabrera & Vlad. All you really need is someone who can be consistently pretty good rather than someone who may be inconsistently spectacular. You already have enough consistently spectacular guys. As far as SS, with Cabrera at 3rd and maybe Vlad in RF with qhestionable pitching, there is no need to further infuriate the SOMO gods with a "3" at ss. I played MM a few times in 2006 with M Young & Glaus. They always produced offensively, but the teams always fell a little short and I think it was the defense they provided(didn't provide?) at ss & 3b.

Thanks alot dj and skns !!! Getting help is always nice and even better when it is coming from two of the better managers in this game. I made some moves to help shore things up. Vlad will go to DH with Francour in right ( marginal offense nice def and arm) and Wilson will be the SS. Had picked up Everett but the guy just does not get any love from strat as he can never hit a lick. The cash I saved with that swap allowed me to make some changes in the rotation ! If you guys or anyone else has any more thoughts feel free to pass them on and Thanks again for the insight.

It looks like you have $3.70 tied up in Varitek, Mackowiak & Almazega. Your team consists of almost all 600 PA guys and Mauer, leaving Wilson as the only guy who can go down for over 3 games. To top it off, you have two guys who played every game. It seems to me you are wasting $2.00+ million carrying expensive back up for guys that don't need it. All you really need is a decent fielding .50 SS to replace Wilson.

i'd like your squad if thise was 06\\
your to thin in your bullpen and your hitting won't pound out the HR's with the way the new ballparks balance. but how can you go wrong with puhols, vlad, cabrarea and mauer? I'll be watching

you may be on to something drew. I had alot of sucess with the 06 version maybe I am trying to hang on to my team building ideas from that. I am still working on this team though and there are some quality players left in FA so its just a matter or making the money work!!
