Thoughts on 2007

At the end of last year, I decided I was done with Strat-o, It took too much time from my work, and I thought I was a failure at it. But then with the first breaths of spring came the desire to manage a baseball team. And I looked back at last year and realized I wasn't so bad for a rookie. If you don't count my one debacle in a theme league with some of the best managers in the business, I had about a .512 average, which I am satisfied with, giving the skill level of many of the managers here.

So On to my thoughts on 2007. I miss the more extreme righty/lefty stadiums. That seems to limit stadium strategy to 2 or 3 options. MinuteMaid was a little extreme last year, but I think ideally for interesting strategy there would be two or three clubs each way that were unbalanced on BPHR's. However there are still some interesting bargains and combinations out there, enough to make my calculating brain happy. I just looked at the stadiums for ATG 3, and wow!, all the options are there, I'll have to try that!
And I am very aware that I am still learning the subtleties of building a successful team.
Bernie, I like the new lineups with backups feature, and I really like the boxscores letting me know when an X was rolled, that gives me a real feel for the effect of the lousy defenses I sometimes draft!
